This is an alternative version of Cold Fusion. If you have mastered Cold Fission, you might as well master this one. Please view the video since the instructions for this trick can get very confusing.

This trick is shown as if you were looking in a mirror.

Step 1

Start with a Double or Nothing either the standard way, or by doing a trapeze to double or nothing transition roll.

Step 2

Next, you are going to do an underpass with your right hand. When you do this, you will end up threading the red string segment, and only the red string segment, into the yo-yo's groove. To do this underpass, move your right hand in the direction of the blue arrow.

Step 3

You are still completing the underpass...

Note- the green string segment, which is the string that is coming from your yo-yo finger. Although you cannot tell by this picture, it is completely behind the yo-yo (meaning it's between you and the yo-yo). Continue following the blue arrow with your right hand.

Step 4

You have just finished the underpass. At this point, your right hand should be crossed under your left hand. Move your right hand against the strings indicated by the blue arrow. The red string segments are the same segments in Step 3, as is the green.

Step 5

Now, you are going to do the second underpass with your other hand. Move your left hand in the direction indicated by the blue arrow. Move it until you reach the blue X, then proceed to Step 6.

Step 6

You will now thread the red, and only the red, string segment into the yo-yo groove. The green strings should go behind the yo-yo. Follow the blue arrow with your left hand to the blue X.

Step 7

If you only threaded the red string, you should end up in the position to the left. The red string depicted in this position is the same red string in Step 6.At this point, your hands should be crossed with your right hand above your left. You will probably intentionally move your left hand in the direction of the blue arrow. This movement is only a small one.

Step 8

You are now going to flip everything to the right. This can be done simply by moving your right hand in the direction of the blue arrow until it is on the same horizontal plane as your left hand. When you do this, the yo-yo will also flip to the right.

Step 9

The yo-yo will continue to flip until it reaches the orange X. This position looks similar to the one-and-a-half mount, but it is not it.

Step 10

I hope you thought the previous 10 steps were a breeze, because the trick gets a lot more complicated from this point on. Ack!

Now you are going to flip the yo-yo back in the opposite direction from which it came; that means flip it to the left, over your hand. It should follow the path of the orange arrow until it reaches the orange X.

Step 11

As the yo-yo comes around, you want to have it land on the red string segment shown in the picture. This red string segment is the segment that is farthest from your body. This string is also the third string segment from your yo-yo finger (the string starts from yo-yo finger to left pointer finger, then from left pointer finger to right hand pointer finger, then from the right hand pointer to the left hand pointer, this is the segment you want the yo-yo to land on). This step is probably the hardest part of the trick and it seems impossible to do. Just be patient and keep practicing until you get it! Once you did this step, move on to Step 12!

Step 12

Now, comes an easy step. Let the outermost string that is looped around your left pointer finger slip off of your finger.

Step 13

You will now end up in this position. This step and the next step are both optional, but it adds lots of flare to the trick. If you wish to skip this step, proceed to Step 15.

Spin the yo-yo clockwise around your right pointer finger one time (you can do more than one spin but then it gets complicated and usually out of line). When you do this, the yo-yo must be perfectly straight -- It can only be moving up/down, and left/right...if it even slightly moves forward or backwards then you might be in for some trouble in Step 15.

Step 14

Now, after the clockwise spin from Step 13, do a counterclockwise spin. Again, keep the yo-yo straight.

Step 15

You are now in a one-and-a-half mount Now comes another hard part!

If you came from Step 12: Give the yo-yo a spin in the counter clockwise direction. It should follow the path of the orange arrow.

If you came from Step 14: Continue spinning the yo-yo in the direction of the orange arrow.

Step 16

The yo-yo will end up in this position for a split second before for falling in the direction of the orange arrow onto the red string. This is very hard to do, especially if you did the forward and reverse spins of Step 13 and Step 14.

Step 17

You will now be in this formation. Let the string looping around your right pointer finger fall off of your finger.

Step 18

You will now be in a trapeze position and you can either pop the yo-yo up and catch it (fly-away dismount), or go into the transition roll "Trapeze to Double or Nothing" and start the trick over again!
